Two big wins for Democrats in the battle for governors’ mansions: incumbents Tony Evers of Wisconsin and Gretchen Whitmer have both won. Evers was among the most endangered incumbents in the country, and heading into Election Day, the race was seen as a jump ball. Whitmer was slightly more favored, and she too has prevailed. Everyone who works on governor races says that one of the toughest things to do in politics is beat an incumbent, and Republicans are being reminded of that tonight.
